While Mori has never made an actual deal with the gentle hand death, she had often sought for his sweet hand to take her from this world, but to her knowledge he's never done it and has always told her that her time isn't yet and when her time does come he'll grace her with the gentle touch and put her to rest. In the meantime he's just kept an eye on her to make sure she didn't go off and do something before her time was here, you could call it a guardian death angle if want to since that's what their bond seems to be; even though he shows her no special treatment and is fair like he's always been.

However, in his peaceful attempt to keep the peace he attracted his sibling's attention who also watch the fate of Mori to see if they'll get a chance to take her life since she never promised Thantos, so it was a free game in their eyes.
